Guardian of the Future
Game Synopsis
Waking up in 2050, on a devastated planet where all environmentalists' predictions have come true, can be desperate... What if you had a chance to save the planet? An opportunity to go back in time engaging in environmental actions to change the future. A game about how small actions change our lives.

The game takes place in Campo Grande, capital of Mato Grosso do Sul state in Brazil, home of the Pantanal. It addresses the growing fires in the biome and their consequences, and how we can collectively build something positive for humanity.
The game's setting was designed to represent the local culture, with a strong presence of the region's ethnic diversity and important tourist spots.​​​​​​​
Game Features
Scoring Parameters: The different combinations of 3 scores result in 27 possible endings.
Action and Reaction: Captivating narrative immersion where your choices unlock different routes and mini-games within the story.
Education and Citizenship: Real data about environmental depletion. Pantanal and Mato Grosso do Sul.
Local Culture: The characters represent the diversity of peoples that make up Mato Grosso do Sul.
My Work
My role in the project was to develop all the concept art and illustrations for the game. All backgrounds​​​​​​​, characters and props were developed by me, with the guidance and approval of game designer and art director Bruno Bandeira.
Character design
Anahy is a teenager of indigenous descent, who has strong opinions about environmental and social issues. She is charismatic and friends with everyone, very authentic and a sports lover.
Enzo is a teenager of Japanese descent who loves online games and RPG. His opinions are shaped according to the environment he's in, not delving deeply into any subject outside his interest zone of games and Japanese culture.
Cecília is a teenage girl of Caucasian appearance. A land owner's daughter and vegetarian, she follows a minimalist clean girl aesthetic. Without social awareness, she's that classic girl who feels like she's saving the world with her metal straw and feels entitled to harshly criticize those who aren't like her.
Adult Cecília
Scientist. Not much is known about him except that he works with experiments in colony 067, with the mission to recover the world from environmental depletion.
Genésio is the class teacher. Well-informed and educated about the world, he talks about serious subjects with students, trying to bring environmental and political awareness to them.
Myra is the teacher for advanced year classes. Liked by all students, she's that cool teacher who likes to make jokes and celebrations in the classroom, bringing lightness to the environment.
